Oil Culture

In ancient times it was the most loved and venerated plant, so much so that anyone who cut down an olive tree was sentenced to the death penalty. The reason for such veneration can be explained in the light of Greek mythology.

Zeus established that the land would be granted to whoever, between Athena and Poseidon, presented a useful gift for humanity. Poseidon, throwing his trident against the rock, made sea water flow, signifying with this gesture his power over the seas.

Athena, in turn, struck the earth, ordering it to produce a new and wonderful tree and instantly the olive tree was born. The Council of Olympus stated that the latter was certainly the most useful miracle and declared Athena the winner.
The olive tree has been cultivated in Italy since the 1st century BC. C. and had a notable diffusion with the Romans.
In the Middle Ages it was the convents that conserved the large olive groves, then the Municipalities also began to take an interest in this cultivation again.

In Tuscany it was the Medici who encouraged this cultivation, giving rise to what is still one of the main resources of the region today. (Associated Tuscan olive growers)

Today our olive grove is made up of more than 1200 plants of different Tuscan varieties (frantoio, leccino, moraiolo and a vast and precious variety of native species at risk of extinction) which yield us Maremma PGI oil for sale every year.

Immediately after harvesting, the olives are pressed at the oil millThe Parish Church', one of the best known in the area,  which uses highly controlled manufacturing processes to avoid oxidation of the olives. Every year therefore we have a minimum acidity which allows our oil to have excellent organoleptic properties.

Tuscan PGI extra virgin olive oil offers maximum certainty in terms of authenticity. The Consortium guarantees each bottle with its signature, verifying the entire production chain, rigorously carried out in Tuscany, from the plant to the packaging. The oil is also subjected to chemical and sensorial tests (tasting by commissions recognized by the Ministry of Agricultural Policies)

to check complete compliance with the specifications.

The result is a 100% Tuscan oil. PGI Tuscan Oil also means typicality and strong connection with the territory, certified by the community brand.

PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) and strict production regulations.

This is why this extra virgin olive oil is fully included among
